When Disneyland isn’t marking a milestone anniversary, a small birthday ceremony takes place in Town Square. Marking 57 years since Disney’s first theme park opened on July 17, 1955, Disneyland yesterday commemorated the moment by having Guests sing “Happy Birthday” to the park along with a few quick fireworks, a cavalcade of characters, and a replaying of Walt Disney’s famous opening day speech.
Characters featured in the special moment included Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Max, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip, Dale, Clarice, Clarabelle Cow, Mary Poppins, Burt, penguins, the Seven Dwarfs, Snow White, the Evil Queen, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Ariel, Prince Eric, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and a few others.
