The opening date for TurtleTrek at SeaWorld Orlando has been set for April 27, 2012. When it debuts, TurtleTrek will feature a world’s first 3D 360-degree dome, immersing guests into the world of the sea turtle, following it through years of aquatic adventures.
In addition to the 3D domed experience, TurtleTrek will offer live animal exhibits that not only include sea turtles but also manatees. In all, SeaWorld says the whole experience will last around 18 minutes from the moment guests step inside to the moment they leave the gift shop at the end.
SeaWorld’s creative director Brian Morrow revealed more details about TurtleTrek during a special media event in November, along with announcements for further expansion of the park including an all-new Antarctica area.

Though Antarctica won’t open until 2013, the debut of TurtleTrek is now just a couple months away. More information and artwork from TurtleTrek can be found here and here, as well as on SeaWorld’s web site.
