An annual party is thrown for Great Movie Ride cast members at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including a performance of a variety of skits. One group of Walt Disney World cast members took the concept to a new level last year when they developed an action movie trailer set inside the attraction, called “Night at the Great Movie Ride,” a parody of sorts of Ben Stiller’s “Night at the Museum.”
Now, for 2011, the same group of cast members have released a sequel trailer with not only characters from the movie-based attraction coming to life at night, but also elements of the rest of the park including Star Tours, the American Idol Experience, and even MuppetVision 3D.
UPDATE (12/3/11): It seems these videos, while approved by Disney for the special event/party, were not intended for mass consumption. As such, the owners have removed them from YouTube at Disney’s request. And thus, they are now also gone from this article too. But we enjoyed them while they lasted!
Fortunately for the rest of us, they have posted both videos on YouTube for all to enjoy…

And yes, while these videos are not official Disney productions, they were authorized and approved by management at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The acting may not be the rest, but they are entirely entertaining, particularly the surprise appearance by Sweetums in the sequel. Perhaps next year they’ll expand down Hollywood Boulevard to the Tower of Terror…
