Wow, those Imagineers sounds as underwhelmed describing their new restaurant as I am in hearing about it. Too bad the Carthay Circle couldn’t have an actual attraction in it… Like, say, a theatre playing Snow White.
Yeah, thought I’d heard the CC was going to be a classic theater, or at least the new home of the Aladdin show–
Still, it would be nice to have one quality sit-down restaurant in DCA.
It was definitely a less-than-energetic presentation but the Imagineers were certainly interested in what they were talking about. Remember, not all Imagineers are as outgoing and funny as someone like Jason Surrell. They’re generally behind-the-scenes people and when presentations like this are given, some are bound to be a bit low-key. Regardless, while I would also like an actual theater to be in the Carthay Circle Theatre, I’m looking forward to seeing what the Napa Rose chef can do for an in-park high-end dining experience.
I was lucky to have grown up in Carthay Circle and have fond memories of the theater and how sad we were when it was knocked down (still remember standing along the fence with all the other kids at Carthay Center School watching that giant ball crash into the building during recess and lunch. We all loved that place and can’t wait for the replica to be built. Thank you, Disney, for bringing back an important part of our childhood!
Right on, Sandra, well said. I was right there with you! Many of my childhood movie memories were at the Carthay Circle Theater, including seeing Mary Poppins there. It’s a shame they tore it down, but now we can relive the memories at California Adventure. Can’t wait!

Well said Ricky, sometimes I feel like you are the only person with common sense.

For God’s sake, these are not show people, they are imagineers who are usually behind the scenes and low key. You are very ignorant aren’t you

“It´s a restarant with a disconecting facade.
Lets face it, it´s kind of sad.”
No its not.
Besides, the castle in Disney world has a restaurant too, you idiot. and most people don’t seem to have a problem with that.
