Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has launched a free iPhone app to help guests get more out of their theme park experiences. Using GPS technology, an interactive map can show guests where they are in the park and allow them to highlight the quickest realtime route to their next destination by clicking a “Take Me There” button. Destinations include restaurants, shows, roller coasters and animal habitats with the app offering additional information about each spot, including menus, restrictions, wait times and more.

Fun facts about animals are available in the app as is an in-app camera, which can be used not only to snap photos but also as part of the interactive map. Photos can be shared via social networks and Busch Gardens’ Facebook and Twitter feeds are accessible as well.

The new Busch Gardens app features include:

  • Interactive real-time map
  • Updated ride wait times and height requirements
  • Detailed information pages for all major shows, rides, habitats and restaurants
  • In-App camera
  • Important phone numbers to make reservations or schedule tours
  • Ways for guests to connect to social media sites
  • General park information and operating hours
  • “Find My Car” pin drop locator
  • Live local weather and forecast updates
  • A link to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund site
  • The free app is available in the iTunes App Store and will soon be coming to the Android Marketplace as well.
