With the ongoing transformation of Disney California Adventure from a kitschy representation of California as a whole to a much more interesting view of California as Walt Disney saw it in the 1920s, the entrance area of the theme park will become the new Buena Vista Street. The Golden Gate Bridge adorned the park’s entrance since its opening is now being transformed into the historic Glendale-Hyperion Bridge.
Today Disney released a rendering depicting what the new bridge will look like when it is completed:
The Disneyland Resort monorail will still pass over this bridge across Buena Vista Street. Southern California Red Car Trolleys will pass underneath.
At a recent “What’s Next” presentation, Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis explained how the entrance to Disney California Adventure is changing, showing artwork and a fly-through rendering of the area:
