More popular Disney characters are making their way to play-and-greet with guests at Disney California Adventure in the Disneyland Resort. Russell and Dug from “Up” and Phineas and Ferb from Disney Channel will appear in the park beginning June 25, 2011.

Inspired by the Disney/Pixar film “Up”, the Wilderness Explorers’ Camp interactive meet-and-greet will be available to guests along the theme park’s Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Beginning at the Ahwahnee Camp Circle, guests will take part in a ceremony with Russell to become Senior Wilderness Explorers, after which they’ll meet Dug further down the trail. Along the way, guests have a chance to earn merit badges.

Then on July 9, Phineas and Ferb will bring “Phineas and Ferb’s Rockin’ Rollin’ Dance Party” to Disney California Adventure. It’ll be a dance party (obviously) featuring a DJ and the pair of characters.

Disney recently debuted a similar Phineas and Ferb play-and-greet experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, centered around a movie-making theme:

Caw-caw, rawrr!…A Wilderness Explorer is a friend to all, be it plant or fish or tiny mole!
(And yeah, I know it doesn’t rhyme.) 🙂

And less embarrassing than pretending kids still remember “Brother Bear”.
But didn’t Pocahontas used to show up there too? Was only there a couple times, and never wandered in.

Do we really need Phineas and Ferb in Disneyland?

I love how these events are for children but the adults are the ones obsess over the details.

Oh and my kid loves Phineas and Ferb and he can’t wait to see and meet his favorite character.
