On the Blu-ray release of Tron: Legacy, due out April 5, a teaser for Disney’s upcoming animated TV series Tron: Uprising will be included. But today that teaser has found its way off the Grid and onto the Internet:
The 10-part animated series will premiere on the Disney XD television network some time in summer 2012 and fans of Tron: Legacy will find its look to be quite familiar, featuring 3D rendered light cycles and shiny blackness that gave the film its unique style. Samples of Daft Punk’s Tron: Legacy score is also included in the teaser video, as programs go in search “of the new Tron.”
The show will take place as a prequel to Tron: Legacy and will feature the voice talents of Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Lance Henriksen, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman), and even Bruce Boxleitner reprising his role as Tron.
