Disney animator Robb Pratt has premiered online an animated short he calls “Superman Classic,” inspired by old “Superman” television serials and even borrowing the music from them as well.

Utilizing his Disney animation background, having worked on films like Pocahontas, Tarzan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Fantasia/2000, Pratt used traditional hand-drawn techniques to animate the short, combined with digital paint and backgrounds to bring the world of Superman to life in a retro-modern style.

Watch it here, followed by a brief “making-of” hosted by Pratt:

Pratt is currently working on the Disney television series Kick Buttowski. Perhaps Disney should consider involving him in creating a few new Marvel projects in the same style.
