Yesterday I had a chance to take a sneak peek at one of the haunted houses for Howl-O-Scream 2010, the annual Halloween event at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I was strapped to their infamous “Scream Cam” to be watched (and laughed at) while walking through the new “My X: Revenge Rocks” house, featuring none other than this year’s icon, rocker chick Sylvie, who has a knack for knocking off ex-boyfriends and anyone else who crosses her path.
While (spoiler!) I made it through the house safely, it wasn’t without incident. See for yourself:
I managed to escape from Sylvie’s grasp, fingers intact – for now. But that was only half the experience. I’ll be returning to “My X: Revenge Rocks” and all of the other haunted houses at Howl-O-Scream 2010 next Friday, Oct. 1, so check back here next week for a full event review and another encounter or two with Sylvie.
But you don’t have to wait to enjoy it yourself. Howl-O-Scream 2010 begins tonight, Sept. 24, with a Freaky Preview weekend, followed by the first official night on Sept. 30. In addition to haunted houses and scare zones, each night of Howl-O-Scream features a concert performed by Sylvie and My X. Here’s a quick video clip from a recent live rehearsal:
Busch Gardens also gave me a video sneak peek inside a few of the other haunted houses for Howl-O-Scream 2010, including the new “Alone” experience, putting guests inside a house all by themselves:
