Tron Soundtrack web site launches with Daft Punk score samples and e-mail newsletter

The upcoming film Tron: Legacy will feature a highly-anticipated soundtrack/score from electronic music duo Daft Punk. Today Disney launched a web site devoted to the soundtrack at TronSoundtrack.com.

Not much can be seen or heard there yet, though a 2-minute track from the score can already be heard streaming in the background of the site. The only feature currently available is to sign up for an e-mail newsletter.

Between the new soundtrack site and the Tron: Legacy official site, three Daft Punk songs from the film can now be enjoyed:

[wpaudio url=”http://a.dolimg.com/franchise/tron/_audio/musicPlayer/DaftPunk_track2.mp3″ text=”Tron: Legacy soundtrack – Daft Punk – Track 2 (From both TronSoundtrack.com and the Tron: Legacy site)” dl=”1″]
[wpaudio url=”http://a.dolimg.com/franchise/tron/_audio/musicPlayer/DaftPunk_track3.mp3″ text=”Tron: Legacy soundtrack – Daft Punk – Track 3 (From Tron: Legacy site)” dl=”1″]

Note that while I have labeled these songs as tracks 1-4, that does not indicate that they will actually be included in the film or on the soundtrack in that order. I simply numbered them to differentiate them, as no track names are available.

Audio clips from the film (and the original Tron) can be heard by exploring the unprotected “audio” folder on TronSoundtrack.com.

And most amusing of all is the easter egg that can be found by viewing the HTML source of the site. (Right click, “View Source”, in most web browsers.) I won’t ruin it for you. Just go do it.

Tron: Legacy hits theaters December 17, 2010.
