in Events, Theme Parks

It was announced today that the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) will host its annual IAAPA Attractions Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. for the next 10 years.

Prior to signing the new agreement, IAAPA Attractions Expo was scheduled to take place in Orlando this year as well as in 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2019, bouncing to other cities including Las Vegas in between. But now, beginning this year, the Expo will take place in Orlando each year through 2019.

The decision for the Expo to call Orlando home for the next 10 years was made based on the proximity to Orlando’s many world-class theme parks and attractions, ideal convention center facility, cost savings, and easy air and sea travel and shipping to/from the city. Most importantly, Orlando was said to be the preferred Expo location by its attendees and exhibitors.

Approximately 25,000 people from 90 nations participate annually in IAAPA Attractions Expo, the largest education conference and trade show in the world for the amusement park and attractions industry.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2010 will take place in Orlando Nov. 15 – 19 and more than 75 percent of the available exhibit space has already been sold. In the past, the Expo has been open only to those in the industry and the press for its first three days, followed by a public day on the fourth.
