Disney’s “Epic Mickey” gameplay and teaser trailer shown off at E3

Mickey Mouse cowers in bed as spooky shadowy hands reach for him, evoking a suspenseful moment from Epic Mickey.

Today at the E3 video game conference, Disney, Nintendo, and Junction Point unleashed in-game footage and a teaser trailer of the eagerly-awaited Nintendo Wii title, “Epic Mickey.”

My favorite trailer moment? The redefined “Partners” statue featuring Walt Disney holding hands with his original cartoon creation, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, in place of Mickey Mouse:



“Epic Mickey” puts the Disney character that started it all, Mickey Mouse, at the forefront, allowing gamers to control him through the Cartoon Wasteland, a place that brings Disney movies, shorts, theme parks into a darker tone. Gamers can control the physical appearance of landscape, buildings, and even characters via paint and paint thinner, altering the terrain around them.
