Two of Orlando’s biggest theme parks are once again rolling out an impressive series of concerts for Summer 2010. While Disney’s Epcot line-up includes a set of tribute (cover) bands, Universal Orlando has filled theirs with original, big-name acts – all included with the price of theme park admission.

Universal Orlando’s Summer Concert Series 2010 lineup features:

  • June 12 – Train
  • June 19 – Pitbull
  • June 26 – Earth, Wind & Fire
  • July 3 – Pat Benatar & REO Speedwagon
  • July 10 – Rob Thomas
  • July 17 – Counting Crows
  • All of these concerts will take place at the Music Plaza, within the Universal Studios theme park, in front of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster.

Meanwhile at Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park, Disney’s Sounds Like Summer Concert Series premieres on the same day as Universal’s concerts. Here’s the lineup:

  • June 12 – June 19: Stayin’ Alive – A Tribute to The Bee Gees
  • June 20 – June 26: Hotel California – A Salute to the Eagles
  • June 27 – July 3: TBD
  • July 4 – July 10: Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones Tribute Band
  • July 11 – July 17: Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute
  • July 18 – July 24: 2U – A Tribute to U2
  • July 25 – July 31: Beginnings – CHICAGO TRIBUTE BAND
  • Unlike Universal’s concerts, which are one-time-only gigs, Disney’s summer concerts are performed three times nightly at 5:45 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. You’ll find these performances at the America Gardens Theatre, near the American Adventure Pavilion.

Since each of Disney’s booked acts perform for multiple nights, there’s plenty of time to catch all of the live music this summer across both theme parks.
