The Power Rangers and Legend of the White Dragon star, Jason David Frank, who passed away on November 20th, 2022, had died by suicide, his wife Tammie Frank confirmed.

You are not alone. If you or someone you know is considering suicide, please contact the Suicide Hotline.

In an interview with People last week, Tammie explained what happened to her husband.

“While Jason was a well-known name to some, we lived a very normal life with ups and downs, just like anyone else,” Tammie said.

“It has shocked and saddened me beyond belief to see that the media has turned my family’s tragedy into a tall tale. Since Jason’s death, I have been harassed online and can no longer stand to watch my husband’s good name slandered.”

Jason, who was 49 years old at the time of his death, starred as Tommy Oliver on Mighty Morphin Power Ranger’s original run, which lasted from August 28th, 1993, until November 27th, 1995.

Jason’s newest movie, Legend of the White Dragon, just wrapped up production late in 2021/ early 2022.

“In the Aftermath, the city was left decimated. A past reminder of the great battle and fall of heroes. The heroes were blamed, stripped of their titles and hunted. But as evil once again threatens to return they must rise from the ashes with the power of the White Dragon.”

Jason David Frank was able to have his daughter Jenna play alongside him in the movie, not to mention some of his fellow Power Ranger cast members.

Tammie went on to explain, in the interview, that prior to Jason’s death, the couple had been considering separating, after the sudden November 2021 passing of Tammie’s daughter Shayla “wrecked our family emotionally.”

But after encouragement from a family friend, Jason and Tammie decided to rekindle their relationship, and they took a two-night getaway in November where Jason ultimately ended his life.

After returning from a brief visit to the hotel lobby, Tammie said she knocked on Jason’s door to no response, and police later found him deceased upon entering the room.

Tammie ends her interview by saying, “To all the fans and supporters of Jason and our family, thank you for your kind words and wishes and God bless you all.”

We wish nothing but the best for Jason’s wife and kids.

The second part of Willow’s (2022) two-episode premiere, this episode develops the dynamics of the group further, now that they know someone who could potentially be Elora Danan (Ellie Bamber) moves among them.

The episode begins with a flashback to the past, and Willow (Warwick Davis) is rocking a goatee. We see him meet Sorcha (Joanne Whalley), and attempt to convince her that young Elora needs to be training in her magical abilities. Sorcha disagrees, and delivers a burn: she says Elora would need a top sorcerer to teach her, and Willow will never be one, even if he is now the High Aldwin.

Sorcha also reveals that Madmartigan (Val Kilmer in the original 1988 movie) is on a quest to find the Kymerian Cuirass, an armor piece which could help defeat the Crone without Elora having to fight.

In the present day, Willow takes the unlikely band of adventurers to meet his fellow Nelwyns. They live underground and first to greet them is Willow’s daughter, Mims (Annabelle Davis). She has a brief reminisce with Elora about the moment she found her as a child.

Willow organises an assembly in which he greets his people and introduces them to Elora in person. He consults the bones and determines that she has come to bring balance, outweighing the evil of the Crone and the Gales.

A member of the crowd calls for a test — they want her to take part in the finger test, where Willow asks her which finger has the most power. She chooses the middle one, but Willow says she failed; the correct answer is her own, demonstrating faith in her own abilities.

Down a deep gorge, we see The Lich (Vitas Le Bas) communing with the Crone. He tells her Elora has revealed herself, and he has set an agent upon her trail.

That agent is Commander Ballantine (Ralph Ineson), who was cursed during the castle battle last episode and is now leading a furious pursuit.

Elora and Willow have an argument. She is desperate to set off to find the kidnapped Prince Airk (Dempsey Bryk), but Willow insists on her completing her training.

Later, Willow is pondering the issue and what to do when Mims approaches. She says if he truly wants to fulfil his duty to protect the Nelwyn, he must accompany them on their quest.

In the meantime, Elora has vanished. The group have been too involved in debating the truth of her identity to even notice. Boorman (Amar Chadha-Patel) doesn’t care, while Kit (Ruby Cruz) is a sceptic and Graydon (Tony Revolori) is a staunch believer. Jade (Erin Kellyman) has a sense of duty to the prophecy. When they hear of Elora’s disappearance, they and the Nelwyn mount a search.

During the search, Willow has memories of finding Elora as a child, and his duty to protect her. She is in the river, doubting herself and her abilities. Willow says she has got to have faith in the power within herself. She wants him to join them and after some thought, agrees — but only if Elora will listen to his instruction.

As the group prepare to set off on their long journey to the Crone, Mims gives her father a tearful goodbye.

Commander Ballantine and his men have found an old camp. The group is two days ahead of them. As one of his fellow knights asks to rest, Ballantine reveals his new allegiance and dives upon the shocked soldiers. (Has Ralph Ineson ever not played a villain? The man emanates malevolence. Excellent casting.)

Back with our heroes, Kit and Boorman are talking on the road. He reveals he is a treasure hunter, and what’s more, spent five years on the trail of the Kymerian Cuirass with Kit’s father Madmartigan as his squire.

In the back of the wagon, Willow tries to teach Elora how to use magic. He tells her of Sorcha’s decision to keep her identity secret and magic from the land, but his lesson is cut short by Elora’s travel sickness.

Around the campfire later, he tries to teach her a spell to grow some berry plant seeds, but Elora’s impatience comes through once more. She is in a hurry to advance to battle magic, spells she can use to rescue Airk. She even attempts to grab the magic artifact, Cherlindrea’s wand, that Willow brought with him from home.

There’s another flashback to Willow meeting Elora as a young girl. He tries unsuccessfully to convince her to come with him back to the Nelwyns, where he could teach her. Instead, she is scared, and Sorcha hears the commotion. She confronts Willow and in a frustrated rage, he tells her he will never return to help her or her kingdom.

In the present, Commander Ballantine has reached the Nelwyn village. Mims and the others are hiding from them, but she decides to step out and greet him. He asks her where Willow and the others are, and she attempts to throw him off the trail with a false path. When another soldier discovers wagon tracks heading a different way, exposing her lie, the Nelwyns vanish.

Elora continues to struggle with her magic, and is left alone to practise after Willow loses patience with her. Graydon approaches and offers to help her with the book, lifting her spirits by telling her she is important and only has to look at how she inspires the group around her to action.

In his tent, Willow is considering turning back. Fellow Nelwyn Silas (Graham Hughes) asks him why, and Willow reveals an ominous vision of carnage. He wakes on a battlefield and finds Elora dead: for the world to be saved, she has to sacrifice her life.

Elsewhere, Kit tells Boorman that she wants to know everything about her father.

And in the grove where she was practising her growth spell, Elora awakes — before being grabbed and dragged away by Commander Ballantine, who has finally caught up to them. Where she was sat, a small plant begins to sprout…

Willow (2022) is the continuation of the classic 1988 movie of the same name. Set in a rich fantasy world, it started life as a story by George Lucas. That story continues now on Disney+ with “The Gales”, the first episode of this new mini-series.

(L-R): Commander Ballantine (Ralph Ineson), Queen Arianna (Talisa Garcia), Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), King Hastur (Derek Horsham) and Graydon (Tony Revolori) in Lucasfilm's WILLOW exclusively on Disney+. ©2022 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM. All Rights Reserved.

The show opens with a storybook recapping the events of the film. A girl, Elora Danan, was born and prophesized to become the new empress and bring about the downfall of a wicked queen, Bavmorda of Nockmaar. Sorcerer Willow Ulfgood (Warwick Davis) and his companions, mercenary Madmartigan (Val Kilmer), the heroic Sorsha (Joanne Whalley) manage to protect the child and fulfil her destiny, ending the wicked queen’s reign over Tir Asleen.

But a vision comes to Willow, one which warns of an impending darkness that threatens Elora and the kingdom. In an effort to protect her, they hide her identity even from herself and ban magic.

In the present day, Princess Kit (Ruby Cruz) is sparring with her close friend Jade Claymore (Erin Kellyman). After Kit defeats aspiring-knight Jade, they are called home. A royal visit is coming and they need to prepare.

Prince Airk (Dempsey Bryk), Kit’s twin, is out in a field with maid Dove (Ellie Bamber). Their romance is cut short for the same reason, as knight Jorgen Kase (Simon Armstrong) urges them back to the castle.

They are met by their mother, Queen Sorsha, who berates them for their lateness and neglecting their responsibilities. As her children hurry to get ready, she hears Willow’s voice on the wind, telling her the Gales are coming.

Elsewhere, Commander Ballantine (Ralph Inneson) is asking Jade if she has told Kit yet. Jade replies that she can’t find a way to do so.

At the banquet, Sorsha is discussing some recent attacks outside the Barrier, the magical protective shield which protects the land, with the reason for their feast: the visiting King Hastur (Derek Horsham) and Prince Graydon Hastur (Tony Revolori), who Kit is arranged to marry to unite their families and kingdoms. Their ceremony is to be the following day.

Sorsha descends to the dungeons to seek counsel with a friend and confidant, the prisoner Boorman (Amar Chadha-Patel). She is conflicted about making Kit marry.

Jade decides to confess her secret to Kit — that she has been put forward to make waves as the first female in the Shining Legion, an elite unit of knights. It means she will have to leave Kit and the kingdom she knows behind.

In frustration and upset, Kit rages against Prince Graydon, regaling him and the wedding party with the tale of a princess who fought and won in a tournament for her hand, in order to determine her own destiny. She storms out of the hall.

Sorsha berates her for her actions and Prince Airk attempts to defend her, but also falls foul of his mother’s anger. Kit says Airk can do as he likes, as he can leave whenever he wants and holds no real responsibility, just like their father did.

Dove, who saw Airk talking to some courtesans at the feast, finds Airk and decides to end their courtship as he is not ready to commit and is too much of a distraction from her job. He says he is and is ready to with her. He gives her a bracelet to signify it.

Kit, meanwhile, has snuck to see Jade in her quarters. She wakes her up and tells her she has decided to run away beyond the Barrier, kissing her and confirming the pair’s true feelings for one another in the process.

Sorsha, in bed, wakes from terrifying nightmares of evil. We then see four dark figures standing on a distant hilltop, overlooking the castle. One blows some ominous smoke in the direction of the city which transforms into a dense blanket of fog.

Jade is outside, trying to convince Kit to stay, when she notices the odd weather. In that moment, one of the four — a swooping, flying shapeshifter — takes out a castle guard, and a giant figure, The Scourge, attacks some others. Death dogs storm into the city and our heroes grab arms to defend, including Boorman, who Sorsha frees to help in the fight.

Sorsha and Kit battle a creature wielding bladed whips, while Airk faces off against the flying creature. Commander Ballatine is against the evil sorcerer, who plants his staff on him and speaks something in Pnakotic.

The Scourge has Jade against a wall, but his arm is lopped off by Boorman. The evil begins to retreat, and only then do the heroes notice that Prince Airk is also gone. Visiting Prince Graydon saw the shapeshifting witch take him as he watched the battle from an upstairs window.

A rescue mission is mounted and Kit immediately volunteers to lead it. To her surprise, her mother agrees. Joining her is Jorgen, Jade, and Prince Graydon, who is volunteered by his father to accompany his bride-to-be on her quest. Sorsha picks Boorman to join them too, citing his knowledge of the lands beyond the barrier. He is happy to go, eager “to square a debt with an old friend”.

The party needs a sorcerer to help battle the evil, and Sorsha says she knows one, Willow, who will be willing to help and will no doubt be expecting them. She reveals that Willow disagreed with the ban on magic, insisting magic would be all that could save them when the evil did return.

Commander Ballatine gifts Jade a sword for their quest, and Sorsha tells her that Kit will need Jade to balance out her rashness with sensible thinking. As the party leaves the gates, we see Ballantine appearing to battle some kind of lingering infection from the evil sorcerer’s touch during the battle.

As the group get underway, Jade tells them someone is following. It is revealed to be Dove, who wanted to join them to save Airk. The group let her stay overnight, but say she has to return home in the morning as she is ill-equipped for their adventure.

The next day, Dove has already left camp, and we find her attempting to cross the gorge to reach the Barrier on a shaky fallen log.

The rest of our heroes have ridden to the Mother’s Gate, the main entrance in and out of the kingdom, but find it deserted. There is a message daubed on the wall referencing ‘The Hidden One’. As Prince Graydon reads it aloud, the ground shakes, and Dove barely survives as the log she is standing on tumbles into the gorge. As she scrambles back to steady ground, she manages to push through the Barrier.

The rest of the group spot her walking across a field past the border. As Jorgen gives them a stern warning about staying alert, an arrow pierces his chest. Skull Reavers are upon them, bandits on horseback. The party flees, led by Boorman, who leaps on horseback off a cliff and into a stream below. The group make their escape by following him as the Skull Reavers look on, shouting his name.

Later, Kit apologises to Graydon for her behavior in the hall. Graydon says he understands, and thinks you should be in love with someone to marry them, but also says when they are in charge they will be able to change such things.

At Willow’s village, the group ask after him to a man. The place seems otherwise abandoned. The man claims to be Willow, but the sorcerer’s ruse is revealed when he steps out from within one of the ruins. He knows why they have come to him and says that Airk has been taken by the Withered Crone, to a place beyond the Shattered Sea, off any charted map.

Willow then spots Dove at the back of the party and shocked, approaches her. As he whispers a spell, a birthmark reveals itself on Dove’s arm: she is Elora Danan, and the fate of the world is in her hands.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special (2022)

Directed by: James Gunn

Starring: Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Kevin Bacon, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Maria Bakalova, Michael Rooker

The Guardians of the Galaxy. What a bunch of festive… This latest Marvel Studios Special Presentation, streaming now on Disney+, takes the galaxy’s most unlikely team of superheroes and gives them a festive spin. This is The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special (2022).

The 40 minute special opens with a fun animated segment, recounting a story from a Christmas past. A young Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt as an adult) is celebrating Christmas with Kraglin (Sean Gunn), when Yondu (Michael Rooker) interrupts. He doesn’t see the value in gifts; the Ravager way is to take. It ruins the festive season.

In present day, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) are talking about it, on Knowhere — the floating Celestial head-come-space-station which the Guardians have apparently purchased off the Collector. It sparks an idea, for them to give Starlord a Christmas surprise and bring him one of his favourite things — the famed Earth hero, Kevin Bacon (played by himself).

For most of the run-time, it becomes a fun two-handed romp as we see the unlikely pair make a trip to Starlord’s home planet. Out of all the Guardians, Mantis and Drax are perhaps the most oblivious to Earth culture and customs. It makes for a series of fun vignettes, as they search Los Angeles to find Bacon and stumble into everything from a festive party to fighting costumed characters on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It has all the fun, wit and charm of the Guardians’ usual appearances, with James Gunn’s signature flair for comedy and the unique dynamic of this unlikely superhero team lending itself well to a festive special. He fully embraces the tropes of that particular cultural phenomenon too; there’s a singalong, courtesy of The Old ’97s, essentially a garage band on Knowhere.

Kevin Bacon throws himself into… well, playing himself, and embraces the absurdity. And things lead to a heartwarming finale, complete with festive lighting and a message about family and friendship.

Of course, a big part of the appeal of these MCU-expanding specials is spotting new additions to the canon. And perhaps the most joyous example is Cosmo (Maria Bakalova), last seen in the post-credits of the first Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) but given an expanded role here. The telekinetic labrador has a sparky exchange with Bradley Cooper’s Rocket, and is the newest member of the Guardians team.

Director James Gunn and the rest of the Guardians cast, especially Klementieff and Bautista, have a ball bringing some festive charm to the galaxy – and the MCU’s – most unlikely band of heroes.

Season one of the show, which follows future rebel hero Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) on his journey from thief to spy, just concluded on Disney+. While the season finale provided some closure, it also left the door open for the stories of the varied cast of characters to continue to be explored in the second season, due 2024.

Speaking exclusively to Collider, Gilroy confirmed that in the one-year gap in the timeline between seasons one and two, no characters would actually die. He said:

“I don’t have anybody dying in the gap. So, if they live, and I’m not going to promise how long they live when they get to the other side, but they all know that. But, no, if they lived in the show, they’re alive.”

That’s good news for those characters who we don’t see in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), the film the show is building to. While the stories of Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly), Cassian and Melshi (Duncan Pow) are absolutely interesting, we know they all definitely make it to see the battle of Scarif.

But for other characters newly introduced in this show, from Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael, to Bix (Adria Arjona), ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero (Denise Gough), slimy Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) and other rebels Vel (Faye Marsay), Cinta (Varada Sethu) and Kleya (Elizabeth Dulau), we can at least rest easy that they’ll make it see the opening of season two.

If we are lucky, we might see more of the Star Wars galaxy we recognise too: the post-credits scene in the finale teased the construction of the Death Star (and revealed the parts the prisoners were forced to make on Narkina 5 were essential components).

Could that mean the return of characters like Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Death Star designer Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) or maybe even Darth Vader himself?

With any luck, we might also get to find out if Andy Serkis’s Kino Loy, a standout guest star from season one, survived the moments after his failed escape from the prison facility.

We saw them in the original 1994 The Santa Clause but haven’t seen them since.

Disney’s new series The Santa Clauses reveals in episode 3 exactly what happened to them.

When we were first introduced to the E.L.F.S, they were portrayed as some of the most important people in the North Pole. Which makes it extremely odd that Bernard and Santa never brought them up again.

The Santa Clauses bring up the elite team through the appearance of their very last member. We also find out exactly what happened to them.

Simply put- they were too good at their jobs.

The last E.L.F.S member explained that there has not been any crime in the North Pole for the last twenty years. Which is roughly how long Scott Calvin has been Santa Claus.

Without this elite group of elves, Scott Calvin might have never been able to remain Santa.

Along with his son, Charlie, they were the ones to help save Santa after he got arrested (for being accused of kidnapping Charlie) in the first Santa Clause movie.

It was all thanks to their special training, and portrayal as an elite extraction and combat unit, fully equipped with jetpacks and more.

Without them, Scott would have remained in prison and Christmas for the foreseeable future would have been forever ruined.

Sadly, the E.L.F.S is down to one member, and we see that the last twenty years have not been kind to the team. So much so, that they are down to one member.

Quoting the last elf- “I’m too old for this shift.”

With being “defudged” and the lack of Christmas spirit, we see exactly what happened to our favorite elite team.

Happy Thanksgiving!

With the new Netflix series, Wednesday premiering, and Thanksgiving being the very next day, it only makes sense that we sit back and reflect.

The Addams Family is something to be thankful for.

They have shown and taught us so many things. From Gomez and Morticia’s relationship to loving sibling rivalry. From never judging a book by its cover- thanks to Thing, Cousin It, and Uncle Fester.

Everyone has a place, and everyone belongs.

And if you don’t feel like you belong, you create your own path.

The Addams Family tested the status quo and what a “traditional family’ is supposed to be like in America.

One of the biggest and most memorable ways they did this was at Camp Chippewa in The Addams Family Values.

Wednesday — with help from other marginalized campers — sabotages the camp’s Thanksgiving play after criticizing America’s institutionalized celebration of settler colonialism.

With Wednesday now being the protagonist of her own Netflix series, it only made that this iconic scene would be replicated with an equally powerful message.

In the original 1993 film, Wednesday and Pugsley are forced to go to summer camp where they recreate ‘A Turkey Named Brotherhood.’

Being cast as a native, Wednesday changes the script to expose the myth of the First Thanksgiving.

In Netflix’s Wednesday, rejecting settler colonialism is a major theme of the series — so much so that an entire episode is devoted to making this thesis.

In Episode 3, “Friend or Woe,” the show does its own version of the Camp Chippewa scene, only this time the fictional town of Jericho serves as the stage with which Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) is going to make her bold statement.

All eight episodes of Wednesday are currently out on Netflix for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving.

What are you thankful for? Let us know in the comments.

Executive producer, Tim Burton, has reintroduced The Addams Family. But this time, it’s all about Wednesday.

The series centers on a teenage Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) trying to solve many mysteries, one being how to cement her identity outside the shadow of her ever-glamorous mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones).

Wednesday is also tasked with harnessing her budding psychic ability to solve a serial killer case at Nevermore Academy and cracking a murder mystery that involved her parents 25 years ago.

In the first episode, after a rather nasty incident with some piranha, Wednesday gets expelled from school, and must now attend Nevermore Academy.

There she meets her new roommate, Enid (Emma Meyers). After introductions, Enid is told that Wednesday is allergic to color. Asking what that means, Wednesday, deadpan, says “I break out into hives, and the flesh peels off my bones.”

Classic Wednesday.

The Addams Family has been around since the 1930s where it started as a comic strip by Charles Addams’.

Since then, there has been a sitcom which started in the 1960s, along with two movies in the 1990s.

The Wednesday Addams most of us grew up watching (Christina Ricci) will also be in this new series.

“She’s a truth-teller. She’ll say the things everybody else wants to say, and she can get away with it,” says Alfred Gough, who created the new show with Miles Millar.

Burton was drawn to a coming-of-age story told through Wednesday’s black-and-white perspective. “I was a teenage boy version of that myself,” says the filmmaker, who also directed four of the eight episodes.

“Honestly, all those weird feelings kept flooding back to me of being in school and teachers and society and all that stuff.” (A water polo scene in the pilot episode was borrowed from Burton’s childhood).

So, put a witch’s shawl on. A broomstick you can crawl on. We’re gonna pay a call on, The Addams Family.

It’s been a few months since we’ve heard anything new about this. But the book’s author, Christopher Paolini took to TikTok to reassure fans that everything is still in the works.

This series will adapt the popular fantasy novels, The Inheritance Cycle, by author Christopher Paolini. Eragon is the first novel in the series, forming a basis for the new show.

However, this is not the first time this novel has been adapted.

In 2006, a live-action Eragon film was released.

Sadly, the movie tanked, and critics were not kind with their words.

IGN’s review said that “the heavy-handed direction and poor adaptation of this half-decent, but derivative, fantasy story will definitely disappoint all but the most thick-skinned and ardent fans.”

Even Paolini knew. So much so, that he made it a point in his video to say, “I am thrilled this TV series is in the works and will do everything in my power to make sure this is the adaptation we’ve all wanted.”

Over the summer, Christopher penned this letter to his Twitter account confirming the news that Disney was making a tv series.

Eragon tells the story of a young hero – a farm boy who lives with his uncle and cousin before being whisked off on an epic adventure when he unexpectedly finds a dragon egg… and nurtures the young beast once it hatches.

The novel Eragon was self-published by Christopher Paolini in 2002 before it was republished in 2003. It was followed by Eldest in 2005, Brisingr in 2008, and Inheritance in 2011. A remake has been in the works and talked about since 2021.

Besides a TikTok video from the author, not much else has been said about the upcoming series.

However, Disney has a few other projects going on as well.

Are you excited for this new series? Let us know in the comments.
