Mickey’s PhilharMagic is certainly a classic attraction at both Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida and in Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The incredible 3D adventure stars some of our favorite classic Disney characters including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as they get ready to put on an incredible orchestra. However, Donald decides to put on Mickey’s sorcerer hat and things get a little out of hand.

Donald ends up going through some of the most beloved Disney animated films as he finds himself stuck right in the middle of some Disney classic song scenes. These include “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, and more.

Now, Guests will be taken into a Pixar film for the first time ever as Mickey’s PhilharMagic at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will soon include a new scene — Featuring Disney and Pixar’s Coco!

The new scene will take Guests into the iconic song, “Un Poco Loco”, and will debut at Disneyland’s version on July 17 and at Walt Disney World’s version later this year in time for the 50th celebration, which will kick off on October 1.

From the concept art, we expect to be taken into the Land of the Dead, the same place Miguel visits in the film, as he sings “Un Poco Loco”.

Disney Parks Blog shared additional details about the new scene:

We can’t keep this news under Mickey’s sorcerer hat much longer. Fans of “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” will soon be tapping to a new song with the debut of an animated scene based on Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.”

The musical number “Un Poco Loco” will anchor the new scene when it opens to guests at Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland Paris on July 17, before being added to Magic Kingdom Park later this year during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration.

The film’s fun, upbeat music and characters combined with the humor of Donald Duck marks the first time Disney and Pixar animators have worked on a creative endeavor where characters from both animation studios will be seen together on screen.

Because music is such an integral part of the show, we were also fortunate to tap one of the film’s original composers – the world-renowned Germaine Franco – to produce a “Coco” score unique to “Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”

Guests will enjoy this new scene alongside all of the show’s current fan-favorite musical numbers. Now it’s time to put on those opera glasses and let the show begin!
