One of the greatest parts about Disney Parks is keeping Walt Disney’s vision alive, inventing and reimagining new ways to keep Guests coming back for more.

When I think back when Mr. Disney said — “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” — it reminds me just how Walt Disney World has changed since visiting back when I was just 12 years old.

Although some attractions have kept their originality for years and have aged well, some definitely need an update.

Recently, we asked our readers to vote on which Disney attractions should never change, and Disney fans came up with some pretty surprising answers. It was very interesting to know everyone’s opinion, so we came back on Facebook to ask our audience which Walt Disney World attractions they think need some sprucing up, and the vote was astounding!

With 172 attractions listed on the official Walt Disney World website, the number one answer that fans gave was Tomorrowland Speedway in Magic Kingdom. Located in Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland Speedway allows Guests to get behind the wheel of their own car, but Disney fans stated there is nothing futuristic about this ride.

For those who have not experienced Tomorrowland Speedway, here is the official description below:

Take the wheel of a gas-powered car and strap yourself in for an exciting and scenic drive. As the checkered flag is waved, you’re off!

Accelerate around sharp bends and lush foliage. Spot iconic attractions visible from the roadway, and pick up the pace as you sprint to the finish line. Featuring a working gas pedal and steering wheel, your car can navigate up and down inclines and around turns.

It’s a nostalgic drive that will have you smiling for miles!

Here are just a few answers we received about updating Speedway — which was pretty valid, if you ask me.

Erik L. wrote:

Speedway by far. There is nothing futuristic about it. They could make a WALL-E themed people mover or Meet the Robinsons car of the future…

Lisa C. stated:

Speedway-would love no gas fumes and to actually be able to steer them.

Lynnette S. shared:

They need to update the Speedway to make the cars electric to avoid all the fumes!

In second place was the Carousel of Progress. Now, just to clarify, Disney fans do not want to see this ride rethemed as many of us can agree that we hold this iconic and classic attraction dear to our hearts. Still, many Disney fans agree that updating the scenes would improve this attraction located inside Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom Park.

Sean E. wrote:

The carousel of progress could probably use an update to the final scene.
The speedway could use removed completely.

Jennifer F. stated:

Carousel of Progress! I would have it go from the 50’s to the 90’s to the 2000’s to like 2050 for the future scene. It’s one of my favorite rides and I would love to see it get an update!

The Enchanted Tiki Room, which was originally supposed to be a restaurant with exotic birds singing, dancing, and surrounding Guests while they dine, has become one of Disney’s most beloved attractions in Disneyland. It was later introduced to Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland. Although it has gone through many changes over the years, some Disney fans agree that the animatronics might need some updating.

Adam M. wrote:

I know I’ll get a lot of flack for this, but the Enchanted Tiki Room. It has not aged well, both the physical animatronics and the content.

Alex D. also shared his list of updates and even some rethemes sharing:
