We are just two weeks away from Disney opening the Disneyland gates and letting Guests back into The Happiest Place on Earth. With that reopening on the horizon, Disneyland is clarifying some policies and procedures that Guests must follow while in the theme parks.

While Disney has always had park rules for Guests, the need for clarification is likely coming now because it has been so long since Guests have been to Disneyland. It has been over a year since they have seen characters, interacted with Cast Members, and ridden many beloved attractions. Additionally, with reports of Guests mistreating Cast Members at Walt Disney World amid the pandemic, now Disneyland Resort is taking the time to outline what Guests should and should not be doing while at the Disney Parks.

On the official Disneyland Resort website on the Experience Updates webpage, where “Know Before You Go” information is found, Disneyland states the following:

Disney reserves the right to require a Guest to leave if they are (i) not properly wearing an approved face covering, (ii) using profanity or offensive language towards our Cast Members or other Guests and/or (iii) violating any other Park Rules.

Disney has always had specific park rules in place that Guests were required to follow, which you can find here. These updated rules now include the face mask policy throughout the Disneyland Resort.

In addition to mandatory masks for all Guests over two years old, Guests must also receive a temperature check before entering the Disneyland Resort.

In July, Disney World reopened to Guests with the same policies and procedures. Unfortunately, since its reopening, Disney World has been struggling with some Guests who do not want to abide by its new rules. As recently as February, a Guest was arrested at Disney Springs for skipping the temperature screening area and refusing to return.

Disney World has also had Guests scream at and even spit on Cast Members. By clarifying the rules that Guests will have to follow while in the theme park, it seems that Disneyland is trying to get ahead of these potential problems and, hopefully, avoid them altogether.
