Annual Passholder Payments

On July 3, 2020, Annual Passholders reported being charged for multiple months at once. Disney has since admitted the error, apologized, and has reversed those payments.

Inside the Magic reported a story earlier that day that Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the monthly payment plan suddenly received charges for multiple months at a time. Monthly payments for Passholders was suspended during the extended closure of the parks, and it appeared that those passholders received a lump charge for the months the parks were closed.

This incident was quickly identified as a computer glitch, but it was not until several hours later that Disney World released an official statement on the matter admitting fault in the system and promising to reverse the charges people received.

Disney has since emailed all Annual Passholders personally apologizing for the error and notifying them that the charges and the correlating authorization hold on the passes have now been reversed.

For those Annual Passholders on the monthly payment plan, Disney World has shared the following information:

If you are an Annual Passholder on the monthly payment plan, your options include:

  • You will receive an additional one month extension to your pass (unless you choose the alternative option below). This additional month will automatically be processed and visible in your My Disney Experience account in October 2020. Please note that monthly payments are scheduled to resume with park opening on July 11, 2020.
  • Alternatively, and in lieu of the additional month extension, Passholders on the monthly payment plan may choose to cancel their annual pass and waive their monthly payments due after August 11, 2020. Any payments made between July 11, 2020 and August 11, 2020 will be retroactively refunded for those that select this option and all future payments would be stopped.

We will send information in early July with details on how to take action on these options.
