For a limited time, this summer you can enjoy “Tale of the Lion King” at Disney California Adventure Park. This all-new production celebrates the spirit of Africa with scenic, props and lavish costume designs and new musical arrangements inspired by the treasured movie “The Lion King.”

“Tale of the Lion King” features a traveling troupe cast of 18 performers who specializes in contemporary style song and dance through language and storytelling. The show is an outdoor musical production that takes place at the Palisades Stage.

“The approach that we’ve taken with ‘Tale of the Lion King’ is that this is a story that was passed on from generation to generation, and now it’s come here to Disney California Adventure park,” said Susana Tubert, Creative Director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “The Storytellers of the Pride Lands have come to share this ancestral story of how a cub became a king.”

The score for the show is filled with elements that are associated with the emotional sweep of the original compositions. By focusing on the vocal performances of the actors and music from the drummers the show is able to achieve a unique percussive sound.

Guests will dance and sing along to new musical arrangements of their favorite songs, including “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Hakuna Matata,” among others. The live drumming and singing, along with the set and costumes all celebrate the cultural roots of this beloved Disney story

“Tale of the Lion King” is now performing at Disney California Adventure Park. Daily Showtimes are: 11:30am, 12:45pm, 2:50pm, 4:05pm and 5:15pm.

Also this Summer the return of Disneyland Forever fireworks show returns at Disneyland Park with daily shows at 9:30 pm.
