“Star Wars” fans everywhere can now experience the thrill of flying the real-life Millennium Falcon in the newest attraction at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And, according to one of the film’s original stars, the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride is even better than the movies.

Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” series, attended the grand opening event of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland last month, along with Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, and George Lucas. And from what we can tell, Hamill believes that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is an even more fun experience than filming the actual “Star Wars” films.

“We were in a cutout cockpit of the Millennium Falcon with the stagehands rocking it and so forth,” Hamill revealed on The Late Late Show with James Corden when discussing what it was like while filming the “Star Wars” series. “When you get on [Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run], you experience it in a way that you never did making the movie. We were just pretending. Here, they do everything for you.”

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland or rude Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run yet, here’s what it’s all about. Guests are assigned the role of pilot, gunner, or flight engineer, and each is given specific tasks to perform during their experience aboard the Millennium Falcon, the most famous starship in the galaxy. The attraction is incredibly immersive and allows guests to feel right in the middle of the “Star Wars” films. As you wait for your turn to fly the Millennium Falcon, you actually get to board the ship yourself and discover the ins and outs of Han Solo’s pride and joy, even having the opportunity to view the rest of Batuu from the inside of the Falcon.

As Hamill suggests, the attraction itself is incredibly immersive, even more so than the “Star Wars” actors’ experiences while filming. While we’re sure it was incredible to be a part of such amazing films, we can agree that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is possibly the most realistic-feeling attraction yet.
