Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has altered Disneyland’s universe as fans from all over the world are coming to experience the all-new intergalactic land. And as guests revel in the other-worldly space environment, Disneyland Resort is already getting ready for their next expansion over at California Adventure Park.

The Marvel-themed land full of superheroes found in Marvel comics and movies is planned to open next year and the world famous theme park has already had a handful of permits for its construction approved by the city of Anaheim. Some of these projects include a bathroom overhaul, a retail outlet, a microbrewery, a character meet-and-greet area, plus improvements to behind-the-scenes buildings.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the construction permits assess the value of all of this action-packed work at more than $14 million. Reportedly, one of the permits, approved Wednesday, allows for a 2,071-square-foot merchandise outlet, with three attached canopies.

At this time, Disney representatives have declined to comment on the permits or what type of attractions will be included in the new land. Although, according to previous press releases by Disney, one new attraction will revolve around WEB. The experience is said to include classic Marvel characters like Spider-Man and will invite Disney Parks guests to “suit up” and engage with Marvel Super Heroes in “new and exciting ways.”

Disney hasn’t revealed vast amounts of information about the new attraction. However, it’s expected that more details of this experience and the rest of the land will be released at D23, scheduled for August 23 to 25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

California Adventure Park isn’t the only Disney Park to be receiving new Marvel attractions in the future as others will be opening at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023, Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2020 and at Epcot in Walt Disney World in 2021.
