It’s official, TODAY Cafe is officially open at Universal Studios Florida and what better way to celebrate this occasion than with Al Roker of NBC’s “TODAY show?” To mark the cafe’s opening, the beloved meteorologist shot a live segment of NBC’s “TODAY Show” from outside the new restaurant, which ended with a confetti-filled blast as he counted down with guests to its official opening!
During the special segment, NBC’s Al Roker and the TODAY team broadcasted live from the cafe with a special TODAY “orange carpet” lined with Universal Orlando’s most popular characters!
Characters at the event included Kung Fu Panda, the cast of DreamWorks’ “Madagascar,” Guy Diamond (the glitter farting troll), Branch and Poppy, Puss in Boots, Shrek and Princess Fiona, and many others!
With this new cafe, guests of Universal Orlando can now get a sense of what it’s like to be on the iconic news set at 30 Rockefeller Plaza as TODAY Cafe was designed to feel as if visitors are actually stepping onto the TODAY set! Looking at these images below, this new restaurant seems almost identical to the TV set in New York City.
The new cafe will serve specialty food and beverage options, including fresh in-house baked pastries, salads, sandwiches, and locally-roasted coffee. This includes the TODAY Cafe blend, which is a unique coffee blend made exclusively for the cafe.
Here is a look at some of the delectable offerings now available at the cafe.
Al’s Avocado Toast – $11.99 smashed avocados, cherry tomatoes, marinated artichokes, roasted red onions, tomato aioli, bread & butter pickles.
