If you’re taking a Walt Disney World vacation, there are a few hidden fees you’ll need to budget for, including a $6 bell services delivery fee.

Disney recently made a significant change to their in-room delivery policy. Now, Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests who have a package or other item delivered to their guest room will be charged a $6 fee per package. Though this new policy does not apply to luggage delivered directly to guest rooms via Magic Express, it does apply to any other delivery, including mail, groceries, gift baskets, Amazon orders, and other deliveries guests may order to their rooms.

Take a look at the new policy as it is written on the Walt Disney World official website:

On top of this $6 delivery fee, guests are advised to remember that gratuity is not included in your Walt Disney World Resort hotel stay. That means this newly enacted $6 does not count as gratuity and is not shared with the cast member delivering the packages to your room.

As Disney points out, guests often like to have items mailed to their Walt Disney World Resort hotel during their stay to cut down on the items they pack in their suitcases. But there are plenty of other reasons to want items delivered to your room while on vacation. Families and those staying in Disney Vacation Club villas often like to have groceries delivered to their rooms, and some guests enjoy having some extra pixie dust added to their vacation by ordering special gift baskets as in-room deliveries. Having an extra $6 per package added to the cost of a delivery can be an unexpected fee for many guests, so be sure to factor this in when deciding whether or not to receive mail or other deliveries while on vacation.

If you want to save money but still wish to receive mail or other deliveries while on vacation, remember that you can always pick up your own packages and mail at the Bell Services desk at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. While it isn’t as magical to opt out of having items delivered directly to your room, it’s nice to save the $6-per-package fee and avoid this charge. Look at it this way: would you rather spend $6 to have your mail delivered, or buy a Dole Whip in Magic Kingdom? We’ll let you decide that one.
