There’s a new flavor to savor from Dr. Pepper! Just in time for “Spider-man: Far from Home,” Dark Berry will be tempting taste buds.
The new, limited-edition flavor sports a blue color scheme, instead of Dr. Pepper’s usual maroon branding. Dark berry will join other flavors, including regular, diet, cherry and cherry vanilla.

Dark berry finally arrived in Northeast Florida. After weeks of scouting grocery store shelves, Spider-Man Dr Pepper single serve bottles begged to be tasted at a local Wal-Mart. Hiding within the impulse buy area, near check out – a serving was obtained for sampling and sharing. . .
Unfortunately, flavor failed to live up hype. While notes of black cherry and black berry profoundly peeked through, they did not blend well with equally strong traditional Dr Pepper soda. The overall effect of combining these eccentric elements gave the soft drink a sour, medicine-like flavor which lingers long after the cold concoction is rushing down towards a surprised stomach. After a few sips, dark berry Spider-Man Dr Pepper earned a sincere introduction to the dark abyss of one kitchen garbage can.
Perhaps its just personal palate preferences, as tasted, this new flavor was far from heroic. Tease (or torture) tastebuds at your own risk.

Blending a trio of ‘black’ berries, the new flavor is, of course, not the first foray into the cherry flavor field for Dr. Pepper. Both cherry and cherry vanilla versions of the soft drink are readily available today. However, on May 1st Snapple (parent company of Dr. Pepper), releases its dark berry blend of blackberry, black currant and black cherry.
This new, blue, dark berry beverage arrives just in time to help promote Tom Holland’s return as Spider-Man. Supervillain, Mysterio, shows up on the new product’s promotional packaging.

“Spider-Man Far from Home” swings into theaters this summer, on July 5th. The teenage web-slinger has appeared in a pair of Avengers movies and enjoyed his own feature-length film, “Spider-Man Homecoming.”
