As “Avengers: Endgame” officially made its premiere in U.S. theaters last night, Robert Downey Jr. shared some pretty intense feelings on social media. It might have only been in 140 characters or less but we’re still wiping away our tears today.

When “Avengers: Endgame” blasted into theaters last night, Marvel fans around the country were flooded with intense emotions. This epic story has been running for the past 11 years over twenty-two individual films, which for some, have become an emotional story that has been intertwined with their lives. To say this movie is just another sequel in the long running film franchise would be an extreme understatement as this film really is a momentous and emotional finale for Marvel fans everywhere.

In the tweet, Robert referenced his iconic role of Iron Man, who the movie star has portrayed on screen for the past decade. In the Tweet, Downey shared: “Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for… It’s been the ride of a lifetime.”

The nostalgic tweet includes a GIF of a scene of Iron Man at his desk awakening his super-powered desktop with the caption “Wake up, daddy’s home.

Iron Man has been a staple of the “Avengers” franchise and to say fans are worried about his fate would be an understatement. Going into Endgame, many Marvel fanatics are scared to know the fates of their favorite superheroes. Anything could happen to these characters in this film.

After “Avengers: Endgame,” Robert Downey Jr.’s contract with Disney will be coming to an end and it is not known if Downey would want to play the character in future MCU films.
