Have you ever seen a 40-pound chocolate egg? How about one shaped like the Cave of Wonders?

The Grand Floridian Resort is known for its chocolate Easter egg display… but if that’s the only place you’ve looked, you’re missing most of the chocolate eggs on display at Walt Disney World.

You can now find eggcellent (c’mon, I had to) Easter displays at the Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk and Contemporary lobbies. Let’s head over to the Beach Club to check out our first display.

Beach Club Resort Easter Egg Display

The bakery teams at Beach club spent two months creating these eggs out of chocolate, fondant, royal icing, and cocoa butter. The tallest here is 20 inches tall and the heaviest weighs in at 20 pounds. Anyone have some peanut butter?

Cast Member Monty Ray was on-hand to tell me about the eggs. He let me know that some of the eggs are from last year and confirmed with Disney Chef Kevin, who happened to be out in the lobby making a routine check on the eggs.

Like that honey they found in Egyptian tombs, these eggs were built to last. Since they’re made out of only sugary ingredients, they can last for years if cared for properly.

Disney chefs have spruced up the Daisy, Peter Pan, and Fox and the Hound eggs, three holdovers from last year’s display here at the Beach Club, and the fab five you’ll see below at the Yacht Club. Looking pretty good for year-old eggs!

Guests can purchase Easter candies at a pop-up shop in the lobby near the egg display, or even put together an Easter basket to help celebrate the holiday during their stay at the parks. This is a great opportunity for parents to surprise the kids with an Easter bunny visit!

The Boardwalk Resort’s Eggsclusive Collection

Across Crescent Lake, the Boardwalk has a humble yet mighty egg display of their own. While it’s not as prolific and isn’t taking center stage in the lobby (check the counter next to Guest Services instead), these are definitely worth stopping in and taking a look.

You can get a bit closer to the eggs here than at Beach and Yacht club, and that has one amazing effect: The smell.

The dedicated baking team at the Contemporary Resort created their chocolate eggs in just three weeks. These eggs range from 3 to 25 inches and weigh up to 40 pounds.

While the eggs at the Crescent Lake resorts lean heavily on Disney character, a few of the styles at the Contemporary are decidedly more abstract. But with so many to look at, there was plenty for the fans:

If you can’t make it to Disney World by Easter weekend, don’t worry: The chocolate Easter eggs will be on display at the Contemporary, Beach and Yacht Club and Boardwalk resorts through April 28th, and many will likely be refrigerated and put back on display next year.

Will you be heading out on a confectionary egg hunt?
