As every parent knows, getting kids to eat their fruits and veggies can be a difficult task. That’s why Laleh Mohmedi started making healthy, Disney-inspired food dishes for her son, and when you see them, you’ll want to start eating healthy, too.
Mohmedi says in May 2015, she decided to turn her son’s spelt pancakes into a lion to add some fun to mealtime. Her son, Jacob, loved it. “Every few days he would ask if I could make him a character from a movie, book or toy that he had seen. Jacob and I would get creative in the kitchen and discuss the ingredients that we were using and the benefits,” she writes. “For example, when he was 3, we would talk about how Kale was a superfood. He would ask why, and I would say ‘because superheroes love eating it’ – that was a winner for him!” Jacob is now 6 years old, and Mohmedi also has a daughter, Charlie, who is 19 months.
She started posting photos of their creations online and within a month, the amazing dishes gained worldwide attention. Within the last few years, they’ve worked with companies like Disney, Nickelodeon, Universal Pictures, and more. Each of their nutritious dishes is made with fresh produce, zero refined sugar or preservatives, and they’re dyed using vegetables and natural powders like activated charcoal. Below, take a look at some of their most incredible Disney-inspired dishes and see if they spark culinary inspiration for your own little ones!
