Sean Gunn, brother to director James Gunn and actor who portrays Kraglin in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” has confirmed that all of the film franchise’s main stars will be returning to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
Last year, after Disney let go of James Gunn as director of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” due to controversial old tweets resurfacing, the film’s main cast members all banned together over social media to defend Gunn and support his return to the director’s chair. Since then, Disney has decided not to use Gunn to direct the film, which left some fans guessing whether or not all of the film’s stars would return to Vol 3.
In a recent interview with Variety, Sean Gunn confirmed the news that all of the film’s cast and crew are still willing to work on the next film. “I don’t know exactly how that’s all gonna work,” Gunn said, “but I feel like we are going to make the third movie, I’m excited to make it, I think it’s a disservice to the fans if we didn’t make it and I know the people who worked on the ‘Guardians’ movies are really a family, and we’re gonna come together and make the best movie we can regardless of who’s in charge.”
Only last month did Chris Pratt, the leading star of the film franchise, confirm the third film was going into production. Additionally, he also revealed Marvel was working off of James Gunn’s original script for the third film. In a report by Collider, it was found that Gunn had handed the script to Disney back in June of last year when everything was still on track for an early winter 2019 production start. However, this was right before the film came to a halt after the old tweets by Gunn resurfaced.
