Cruise company Royal Caribbean UK recently announced the cleverly titled Shore Explorer Apprentice-ship, seeking experience hunters to travel the world and post on social media.
The lucky candidate will serve as an apprentice to Royal Caribbean’s Instagrammer-in-Chief, Russ Francis, and will be able to test new on-land experiences across the globe in locations like Alaska, Japan, Dubai, Norway, and more. One of the excursions includes a trip to Royal Caribbean’s exclusive private island in the Bahamas, CocoCay. The best part? This Shore Explorer will be paid the equivalent of a six-figure annual salary! At the end of three weeks, the explorer receives a check for£6,000 (around $7,760), plus travel expenses are covered during the trip.
To apply, you must be a resident of the UK or Ireland, at least 21 years old, and able to travel for three consecutive weeks between May and August 2019. Of course, you should also be an Instagram pro with working knowledge of filters, Stories, and IGTV, and have the ability to take stunning photos of your adventures.
“We’re looking for an adrenaline junkie who is not only hungry for adventure, but also has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post,” a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean told Business Insider.
Destinations include:
- CocoCay, the Bahamas
- Seward, Alaska
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Stavanger, Norway
- Miami, Florida
- Osaka, Japan
- Dubai
To apply, post your most extraordinary, original travel story on Instagram (including Stories and IGTV) and tag @RoyalCaribbeanUK and #ShoreExplorer. Entries are accepted now through the end of the day on March 1, 2019, and you can enter a maximum of four times. The winner will be selected on April 5, 2019. If you’re the lucky winner, you should pack your own swimsuit, sandals, and shades, and hiking boots or running shoes are also recommended.
