Rapunzel’s Royal Table aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic ship is a toe-tapping, joyous celebration of the return of the lost princess and anniversary of Rapunzel’s birthday. Floating lanterns fill the room, creating an ambiance that will transport you to the kingdom of Corona the minute you walk through the doors. Rapunzel’s Royal Table is unique to Disney Magic, as you will only be able to experience it on this cruise ship.

You will be greeted by Rapunzel’s friends, the ruffians from The Snuggly Duckling, and will be whisked away to your table to enjoy the celebration. The rambunctious ruffians add humor to your evening that will have you smiling from their antics.

Prior cruise guests on the Disney Magic may not be familiar with this dining experience, as it premiered last March. This was the first time Inside the Magic had a chance to experience it first hand and we are glad we did.

The evening is the perfect blend of character dining and live, interactive entertainment. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider make their way to all the tables to say hello and give you a chance to get a picture with your little ones. The ruffians also make their way through the restaurant entertaining guests and taking pictures.

Guests step into a regal ballroom inside the castle, which is lit with glowing lanterns and decorated with colorful drawings that reflect Rapunzel’s artistic talent. Here, guests join the King and Queen of Corona to celebrate Rapunzel’s birthday and the anniversary of her return to the kingdom.

Throughout dinner, guests of all ages are treated to live entertainment, including spirited singing and dancing led by the maître d’, a merry band of musicians, the mischievous Snuggly Duckling thieves, and of course, Princess Rapunzel herself. The family fun is complete with themed menus, special activities and a lively parade to cap off the evening in Corona.

Dinner starts with one of a number of appetizers. I chose the Crisp Isle of Corona Shrimp, which is a single Jumbo Shrimp. It was a very large shrimp that I enjoyed, but unfortunately, it was also easily forgettable.

Being forgettable was not an issue when it came to the main course. I chose the Tangled Pasta and it was excellent, especially the Sea Scallops.

Finally, for dessert, I took my waiter’s recommendation and had Rapunzel’s Fry Pan Sweet Bread and, wow, am I glad I did. You can see some of these excellent options in the pictures below.

Menu

Overall, this was a highly entertaining experience for the whole family. The theming and decor are the star of this dining experience but the food is excellent too.
