As previously reported, this year’s dishes will all be served in tasting sizes, which means you’ll have room to sample even more Mardi Gras offerings. These dishes can be enjoyed daily starting at 4:00 PM from February 9 – April 4 in the French Quarter Courtyard at Universal Studios Florida.
Below, take a peek at what’s on the menu at Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras 2019.
Crab Etouffee – the classic dish with rice and crab, smothered in a savory sauce.
Catfish Po Boy – Fried catfish po boy with a crisp slaw and hot sauce, served with kettle chips.
Also new this year: the Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Po Boy and Chicken Po Boy.
Don’t forget to try the traditional King Cake, which is an important part of Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans.
Returning favorites this year include gumbo, jambalaya (available without shrimp), red beans and rice (available without shrimp), and beignets. Plus, you can get twisted taters with a new Cajun seasoning twist.
Mardi Gras celebrations call for fun drinks, and there are a few new specialty cocktails in store this year. Look for the Carnival Cocktail, Ragin’ Rumbalaya, and Vicious Voodoo (a combination of the first two drinks).
Also new this year: a Mimosa Bar with unique flavors like caramel apple, raspberry rosemary, mojito mint and more. In addition, there’s a wide variety of craft beer selections.
For a non-alcoholic option, try the Bayou Bog Water with gummy worms and fish, blueberry boba beads, and a lemonade and ginger ale mix.
In addition to the tasty food and drinks, guests at Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras can enjoy live performances from artists like Macklemore, BUSH, Pitbull, and more. For more information on the New Orleans-inspired party at Universal Orlando, head over to their website.
