Disney Super Bowl

Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday for sports fans, but this year football fanatics aren’t the only ones who need to tune in. It’s been confirmed by Ad Age that The Walt Disney Company will have an undisclosed number of TV spots for the 2019 Super Bowl, so keep your eyes peeled, Disney lovers! This may be the premiere date for the trailers of your most-anticipated upcoming films.

Of course, Disney will be airing ads during the Super Bowl. It’s only the most anticipated day of the year for TV advertisements. But the question is, which ads will Disney decide to air on the big day? Rumors are circulating about the possibility of a new “Avengers: Endgame” trailer being among Disney’s TV spots during the game, as a trailer for “Avengers: Infinity War” aired during the Super Bowl last year. And given the popularity and mass anticipation for the upcoming film, the possibility of an “Avengers: Endgame” trailer airing during the Super Bowl will likely cause Marvel fans to tune into the game on TV.

But given the massive amount of viewers on Super Bowl Sunday, it may make sense for Disney to unveil a trailer for the upcoming “Star Wars IX.” Fans have been long awaiting footage (and any information, really) for the newest film in the “Star Wars” franchise. Disney has yet to even release the title for the film, and a teaser trailer during the Super Bowl would surely get “Star Wars” fans excited, especially after the mixed reviews of “Solo” and “Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi.” The next “Star Wars” film release is still many months away, so we won’t be holding our breath for a trailer anytime soon.

It’s likely that we’ll see trailers for films releasing in the first half of 2019, such as “Captain Marvel” and “Dumbo,” which hit theaters in March, “Aladdin,” which releases in May, “Toy Story 4,” which hits theaters in June, and even “The Lion King,” which premieres in July. We’re so excited for all of these films, but as Movieweb suggests, it would be pretty great to see a new “Aladdin” trailer. How epic would a reveal of Will Smith in his blue Genie form be? We can’t wait to see this in theaters, so a Super Bowl reveal would be awesome.

No matter what ads Disney has in store for Super Bowl Sunday, we’re sure we won’t be disappointed. After all, more news is good news, right Disney fans?

What upcoming Disney film do you hope to see a new trailer for during the Super Bowl this year? Let us know in the comments!
