The Lunar New Year festivities at Universal Studios Hollywood will take place at Universal Plaza, where red Chinese lanterns, plum blossom Wishing Trees, and the 12 zodiac signs will adorn the area and showcase beautiful elements of the traditions of Lunar New Year. One of the most exciting events of the two-week celebration is the Dragon Warrior Show based on “Kung Fu Panda,” where Master Po and his friends will demonstrate martial arts. Guests will also be able to learn how to draw Po and the Furious Five during the event.

Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop will return to serve delicious Asian-inspired dishes like Po’s Dumplings, Dragon warrior Bao, Oogway Eggrolls, and Secret  Ingredient Stir Fry Noodles. Guests can also meet Mr. Ping at the Noodle Shop. Take a look at our video of last year’s event below.

MEGATRON will also be back this year speaking Mandarin. This is now a tradition at Universal Studios Hollywood, and we’re so excited that he will return to greet guests in Mandarin at the entrance to the Lunar New Year celebration. The iconic Hello Kitty will be decked out in Lunar New Year attire and greeting guests at the Hello Kitty Shop inside the Animation Studio Store. The Minions will also be dressed in celebratory outfits and meet guests outside the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride. Universal Studios Hollywood will also offer the Studio Tour and VIP Experience in Mandarin hosted by trained Mandarin-speaking tour guides.
