Delusion: The Blue Blade

In 2011, Southern California was introduced to a new kind of immersive storytelling. It all began with an unassuming production called Delusion, taking place in a creepy old mansion in Los Angeles. It was a game changer. In the following years the tradition continued with new productions including “The Blood Rite,” “Masque of Mortality,” “Lies Within” and “His Crimson Queen” all under the Delusion banner. These previously mentioned productions were all part of a creepy/horror genre, but the latest show throws you into the middle of an Indiana Jones-like adventure called “The Blue Blade.”

Synopsis:

The world has become erratic since the theft of the Blue Blade, an artifact of unknown origin rumored to give its owner the power to tear through the fabric of space and time. Once held by the Safeguard Society, an elite group of historians, the blade was stolen by Professor Evelyn Lowell…one of their own.

Evelyn went underground and unlocked the mysteries of the blade. For years she ran a black market, amassing wealth by taking clients to other eras. But as prying eyes grew near, she disappeared. Rumored to be protected by a shadowy cult.

The fate of time and space hang in the balance as Evelyn and the blade slips further away. As a sign of desperation, the Safeguard Society looks to you, their most promising initiates, to track down Evelyn and the blade.

If you’ve ever wanted to live in an adventure movie, this experience is for you. You’ll travel through time and go on an adventure of which you’ve only dreamed. Delusion is an experience that truly needs you to help tell the story. You are not a passive audience member. You must finish tasks, find artifacts, answer phone calls and even find hiding spots to avoid being caught by less desirable characters.

One of my favorite parts of Delusion is the conversations you have with your friends afterward. You may begin your journey as a small group, but you will be split up throughout the night. It’s always fun to compare and contrast notes with your friends about what was happening in that other room when you were busy trying to crack a code in a hidden closet.
