Christmas decorations arrive at Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom

As the 2018 holiday season approaches, the first Christmas decorations have been put on display at both Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

Walt Disney World’s holiday celebrations attract more guests to the parks than any other time of the year. In part, this attendance is due to each of the resort’s overwhelming Christmas decorations, which immerse guests into a magical holiday fantasy. Last week, we took a look at Magic Kingdom’s holiday decorations, but today we have a look at some of the Christmas decorations that have just premiered for the 2018 holiday season at both Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Epcot

Upon entering Epcot, guests are immediately met with Christmas carols, holiday tinsel and Christmas ball ornaments. And this marks only the beginning of the many holiday experiences visitors will find while exploring the park.

The usual Christmas decorations have not premiered at the park’s main entrance just yet as the 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival runs through November 12, but if you make your way a little further into the park you’ll find some of the newly installed Christmas scenery for this year’s upcoming holiday time.

At the entrance to the World Showcase sits the iconic Christmas tree decorated with Christmas ball ornaments themed after all of the countries found around the park. Other decorations found on the tree include “Happy Holidays” signs in each language from the many countries in the World Showcase.

The merchandise shops on either side of the entrance to the World Showcase are also outfitted with a little holiday decor. Decorated tinsel greets guests as they enter each store, where they can find special holiday merchandise now found inside both of these shops and around Walt Disney World Resort.

Joyous sights only continue as you make your way around the World Showcase. Decorations currently on display around the Canada Pavilion can be found outside of Le Cellier Steakhouse, on the pavilion’s exterior buildings and at The Mill Stage, where The Canadian Holiday Voyagers will be performing starting November 18 (the beginning 2018 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays).

Next, at the United Kingdom Pavilion, guests at Epcot will see light posts wrapped in cheerful Christmas decorations.

Over at the American Adventure Pavilion stands a massive Christmas tree across from the America Gardens Theater. This eye-catching tree features a patriotic display of red, white and blue Christmas tree ball ornaments, bows, and Poinsettia leaf garland.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has also just started celebrating the upcoming 2018 holiday season with the premiere of its own holiday decor, including its massive Christmas tree at the front of the park.

The tree features tribal and safari-themed ornaments, including decorations designed after wild animals found around the world. And at the base of the tree is where guests can see some familiar faces, including Tigger and Piglet from Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh” and Hathi Jr. from Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

This is all joined by decorated garland and wreaths strung along the park’s main entrance, ticket booths, and turnstiles.

This decor goes even further upon entrance into the park. Similarly decorated garland can be found along all the main stores, located right after the park’s main entrance.

Other Christmas decorations spotted in the park include a few holiday trimmings in Dinoland U.S.A. Located right next to Donald Duck’s meet and greet stands a frozen snowman to greet guests walking into the prehistoric part of the park. This snowman joins decorated garland, which runs all around the meet and greet station.

Other holiday elements found in the land include a few tinsel Christmas trees and lamppost holiday decorations.

All of the decorations featured in this article are only a preview of what is to come this holiday season at Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom as many Christmas decorations are still missing from the parks. Expect to see Epcot in its full holiday glory starting November 18, which marks the beginning of the 2018 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
