The most underrated snacks at Disneyland Resort

in Disney, Disneyland Resort, Food

We all have our favorite Disney Parks snacks, from iconic Disneyland churros to the grey stuff from Be Our Guest Restaurant. But hidden among parks filled with fan-favorite eats are several underrated food items. Disneyland Resort is home to countless delectable snacks, so we’ve compiled our list of the most underrated of them all.

7. Chimichanga

This food item has been a Disneyland staple for years, but have you ever tried one? Essentially a fried burrito filled with beef and beans, the chimichanga is available for purchase throughout Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure typically where the turkey legs are sold. It’s got a slightly spicy kick and is definitely filling and shareable. It may not be the most appetizing-looking treat, but it’s worth a try.

6. Cheese on a Stick

Another underrated (and fried) treat is the Cheese on a Stick at Corn Dog Castle in Disney’s California Adventure. Perfect for the vegetarian Disney-goers out there, the Cheese on a Stick is a corn dog, minus the dog and stuffed with cheese. It has taken many forms throughout the years, from classic cheddar to pepper jack, but no matter how you spice it, it’s delicious.

5. Peanut Butter Sandwich

Often overlooked, the peanut butter sandwich is one of the most decadent and irresistible sweet treats at Disneyland. These are thick patties of peanut butter covered with hardened chocolate, and we can’t get enough of them. If you’re a fan of peanut butter cups, these are ten times more delectable. Find these at most candy counters in Disneyland Resort, such as the Candy Palace and Pooh’s Corner in Disneyland and Marceline’s Confectionary in Downtown Disney.

4. Hand-Dipped Ice Cream Bars

Perhaps the most Instagram-able treats are the hand-dipped ice cream bars from Clarabelle’s in Disney’s California Adventure. We aren’t sure why more people aren’t talking about this dessert, because it is entirely customizable. Choose your ice cream flavor, your chocolate-dip flavor, your sprinkles, and your drizzle, and you’ve got the prettiest dessert in the whole resort. And to top it off, no matter how pretty it looks, it tastes even better.

3. Foot-long Hot Dog

Toontown is a wacky place in Disneyland, so why wouldn’t it serve wacky food? The foot-long hot dog from Pluto’s Dog House in Toontown is one of the most comical food items simply because of its looks. An extra-long hot dot on an extra-short bun is worth a try, in our book.

2. Spicy Pickles

One of the cheapest (and most delicious!) Disneyland snacks is the spicy pickle. These are sold at carts around the resort, but our favorite place to pick these up is near Jungle Cruise in Adventureland. While the pickles come in classic, sour, and spicy flavors, we definitely believe that the spicy is superior. Why wouldn’t you want to take a bite of one of these on a hot Anaheim day?

1. New Orleans Fritters

The New Orleans Fritters have to be our number one pick for the most underrated snack in Disneyland Resort. These are golden-fried bananas drizzled with a raspberry sauce and served hot at Royal Street Veranda in New Orleans Square in Disneyland. What’s not to love?
