Disney California Adventure is filled with so much good food, you’d need way more than just one day to try everything the park offers. Whether you’re an annual passholder or an infrequent visitor, you may agree that it’s hard to narrow down the best of the best eats and treats at California Adventure. But we’ve got you covered. Here’s our list of the top seven food items at DCA.

7. Lemon soft serve

Don’t worry, it’s lemon! The lemon soft serve from Adorable Snowman Frozen Treats on Pixar Pier is worth the long line you may encounter before you purchase it. Served in a cone topped with lemon-infused white chocolate or in a parfait layered with blue raspberry frozen slush, this cousin of the Dole Whip is a delicious treat no matter the weather.

6. Award Wieners hot dogs

The loaded hot dogs from Award Wieners should be award winners in their own right.  These delectable hot dogs can be eaten with the classic toppings or stacked with everything imaginable, from mac and cheese and chili to corn chips and pulled pork. A loaded dog with seasonal toppings may seem a bit on the pricey side, but once you take a bite, you’ll be persuaded that they’re worth every penny. Find these in Hollywood Land.

5. Red’s Apple Freeze

This is possibly one of the most underrated beverages at Disneyland Resort, but it’s definitely making our list. Red’s Apple Freeze, the little-known twin of LeFou’s Brew at Walt Disney World, is a fruity concoction of frozen apple juice, passion fruit, and marshmallow syrup that can be found at Cozy Cone in Cars Land. Get this refreshing drink with a churro on the side and you have the perfect afternoon snack to enjoy while you take in the atmosphere of Radiator Springs.

4. Fried biscuits from Carthay Circle

Carthay Circle on the corner of Buena Vista Street is one of Disneyland Resort’s signature restaurants, and their appetizer menu does not disappoint. The fried biscuits are as delicious as they sound: they are stuffed with white cheddar cheese, bacon, and jalapeno, cooked to golden crispy perfection and served with a side of apricot-honey butter. These are a menu item definitely worth getting a Carthay Circle reservation for.

3. Bacon mac and cheese cone

We couldn’t have a ranking of our top snacks at California Adventure without mentioning the bacon mac and cheese cone from Cozy Cone. This menu item is just as much a part of the Disney park as Cars Land is. If you don’t agree, you probably haven’t tried it yet. Delectable cheesy goodness topped with salty bacon bits and cradled in a bread cone, this could be a snack to share or a whole meal on its own. At this point, this cone is a classic California Adventure dish.

2. Corn dog

There’s a reason why Disneyland Resort is known for its corn dogs. The Little Red Wagon in Disneyland seems to get most of the credit, but you can get the same quality corn dog in California Adventure at Corn Dog Castle in Paradise Garden Park. These almost-foot-long treats are hand dipped in cornmeal batter and deep-fried until perfectly crispy. And Corn Dog Castle doesn’t just serve plain corn dogs. Here, you can order fried cheese on a stick and a hot link corn dog, as well. This eatery can satisfy any savory craving.

1. Lobster nachos

What would we be thinking if lobster nachos weren’t the number one food item on our list? These are by far the best thing to eat in California Adventure and, quite possibly, the best dish in all of Disneyland Resort. Previously a hit at Cove Bar, it’s no wonder Disney chefs brought this dish back after reimagining the eatery as the new Lamplight Lounge with the opening of Pixar Pier in summer 2017. Lobster nachos consist of house-made tortilla chips, black beans, pico de gallo, chipotle crema, aged cheddar, Oaxaca cheese, and, of course, delicious warm lobster. And if you’re not a seafood fan, you can also order these with chicken or completely vegetarian. Whether for lunch, dinner, or sometime in between, take some time out of your park day to feast on these nachos. You may be craving another helping sooner than you think.
