Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns” songwriting team will perform at D23’s Destination D event this November

Disney is building even more excitement for “Mary Poppins Returns” with a one-minute preview of more magical music from the upcoming film. Take a peek below, and if you’ve got a ticket to Destination D on November 17, be sure to catch the behind-the-scenes presentation from the movie’s songwriting team, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

“Mary Poppins” fans, listen up! If you thought the upcoming release of “Mary Poppins Returns” was big news, just wait. The songwriting team for the new film’s music will give a special presentation at D23‘s Destination D event on November 17 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World.

Composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman and lyricist Scott Wittman, award-winning songwriters for film, theater, and television, will present a special behind-the-scenes experience from the making of “Mary Poppins Returns.” They will also discuss how they created the original music and songs from the new sequel, and Shaiman will even give a live musical performance.

Destination D tickets are currently sold out, but if you already snagged some, add this to your schedule of must-dos at the event. You won’t want to miss it!

Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, the first ride-through Mickey Mouse attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, will push the limits of immersion for the Disney experience. Join members of the Walt Disney Imagineering creative team, including Kevin Rafferty and Charita Carter, for a sneak peek of the zany twists and turns of this upcoming groundbreaking attraction!

To wrap up a great weekend and celebrate Mickey’s birthday on the evening of Sunday, November 18, we’re throwing a Mickey pajama party—including a visit by Mickey himself! Guests are encouraged to stop by, wearing their favorite Mickey Mouse pajamas, grab a treat, enjoy Mickey shorts, and take photos with a few of Mickey’s pals! Plus, don’t miss Four Artists Paint One Mouse, where four Disney artists embark upon an “Adventure in Art,” each interpreting Mickey in their individual style.

7 p.m. : Conclusion of Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse

Be sure to book dinner and FastPass reservations if you’re planning to enjoy additional time at Walt Disney World Resort following Mickey’s PJ Party.
