Toy Story 3 IRL

“Toy Story” fans Morgan and Mason McGrew have spent years filming a shot-for-shot recreation of Disney-Pixar‘s “Toy Story 3” using real toys and people, and their painstaking work is shown off in a new trailer for the movie.

The brothers have faithfully recreated “Toy Story 3” using live-action and stop-motion. The fan-made project isn’t complete yet, but the McGrew brothers plan to have it finished by next year. Along with the trailer, they shared the following message on their YouTube channel:

For way too many years now, my brother and I (with the support of our awesome family and friends) have been working on a shot-for-shot recreation of Toy Story 3. This project has been an incredible undertaking, and we’ve made the decision to have this complete by 2019. At this time, I’m not quite sure what a release will look like, but I do know that this has to be done by next year. We’re both pursuing college and full-time careers right now, and it’s time to wrap this side-project up.

Last year, the brothers shared details about the project with Yahoo Entertainment, including the fact it took two years to meticulously recreate Andy’s room.
