Banana Cabana

Updated 10/8/18:

After undergoing refurbishments, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort now boasts a new lobby and amenities, including an expanded Centertown Market, updated Banana Cabana poolside bar, and new table service restaurant Sebastian’s Bistro.

Old Port Royale is now the resort’s port of entry, with an all-new porte-cochere that welcomes guests into a colorful lobby with an open-trussed roof and colonnade decorated with floor-to-ceiling drapes. Upon arrival, Cast Members will help you get checked in and answer questions about your vacation. Take a break in the lounge-style seating areas or visit the new Calypso Trading Post for souvenirs and supplies.

Old Port Royale also offers three new dining options: Sebastian’s Bistro, Centertown Market, and Banana Cabana. Sebastian’s Bistro is a Caribbean-inspired table service restaurant with waterfront views. Some of the Latin and Caribbean dishes on the menu include a skirt steak “chimichurri,” sautéed shrimp and tamales, a crispy avocado-and-bacon burger, and more.

In the midst of the resort refurbishment, Disney shared new menu details for the expanded Centertown Market and updated Banana Cabana pool bar.

The quick-service Centertown Market has been reimagined as an indoor street market. On the menu, guests can find tasty breakfast options, hearty Latin and Caribbean-inspired dishes, a couple of sweet desserts, and several kid-friendly meals.

The breakfast menu features traditional dishes like Eggs Benedict and the All American Breakfast Platter with eggs, home fries, sausage, bacon, and toast. There are also island-inspired ways to start the day, like the Coconut Waffles with fresh fruit or Banana Pancakes topped with granola and pineapple chunks and served with sausage and maple syrup.

Bases include:

  • Red beans and rice (offered all day)
  • Home fries (offered at breakfast)
  • Greens (offered at dinner)

With these options, there are over 30 different Island Bowl combinations to create for both breakfast and dinner. Other options on the dinner menu include fresh salads, pasta, Sicilian-style pizza, and several sandwiches and burgers.

On the kids’ menu, young guests can find new offerings like the Egg Popper for breakfast, which is a hard-boiled egg pop with green pirate juice, roasted pineapple, and bacon. There’s also the new Beef and Mushroom-blended Cheeseburger for dinner with “cauli” fries and orange sauce, or a mini “build-your-own” Island Bowl. Other more traditional options include Pirate Mickey Waffles and French Toast for breakfast and Chicken Breast Nuggets, Tacos, and Grilled Cheese for dinner.

Dessert options include the Tropical Tart with key lime, mango, and passion fruit curd with Chantilly or the Chocolate Crème Tart with chocolate cake, coffee Chantilly, and caramel crispies.

The beverage island in Centertown Market offers fountain beverages featuring Coca-Cola Freestyle, freshly-brewed coffee, and a variety of teas. Draft beer and single-serve wine and cocktails are also available. In addition, the Grab ‘n Go Market serves specialty coffees and quick bites to go.

Over at Banana Cabana, the poolside bar offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a relaxed, Caribbean-inspired setting. “Cabana-style drapes flank the seating groups and re-purposed steel drums will illuminate a central communal table made from a wooden boat,” says Disney.

Cocktails include the Pink Guava Colada with rum, guava puree, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut and the Kraken Punch with spiced rum, blood orange sour, and pomegranate and orange juices. A variety of Caribbean, craft, and traditional beers will be available, as well as premium white and red wines on tap.

Non-alcoholic drinks are made with a blend of fruit juices and tropical flavors. One option is the Tropical Paradise, a blend of pineapple, coconut, cinnamon, and lime dusted with nutmeg.

To go with the tropical beverages, guests can also find Caribbean seafood and mainland dishes on the Banana Cabana menu.
