From the ashes of the evil Galactic Empire rose the First Order, and meeting them as opposition was the Resistance. Set before the events of “Star Wars – Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” Lucasfilm’s new animated series “Star Wars Resistance” is set to air in just over a month on Disney Channel. And today the official Star Wars Twitter account revealed a new poster featuring the show’s main characters.
Highlighted on the poster are the recently-revealed main cast of Kaz (voiced by Christopher Sean), Tam (Suzie McGrath), Neeku (Josh Brener), Torra (Myrna Velasco), and everyone’s favorite ball-shaped droid BB-8. The series will also feature the vocal talents of “Star Wars” sequel trilogy veterans Oscar Isaac (as Poe Dameron) and Gwendoline Christie (as Captain Phasma).
The official description for the first episode of “Star Wars Resistance” is as follows:
In the one-hour premiere “The Recruit,” Poe and BB-8 assign Kaz to the Colossus, where he meets a cast of colorful new aliens, droids and creatures. While undercover to spy on the growing threat of the First Order, Kaz works as a mechanic and lives with Poe’s old friend Yeager — a veteran pilot who operates a starship repair shop run by his crew: Tam, Neeku and a battered old astromech called Bucket.
“Star Wars Resistance” will premiere Sunday, October 7 at 10:00 PM on Disney Channel.
