Disney’s Hollywood Studios welcomed Woody, Buzz and the rest of your favorite toys with the highly-anticipated grand opening of  Toy Story Land last week, bringing exciting new attractions, dining opportunities and more to the park.

Before it opened, however, Disney welcomed several members of the U.S. military and their families to the new land, allowing them the opportunity to be among the first guests to experience it.

“Our military keeps us safe, keeps up our ideals and we in turn have a responsibility to them and their families, who often times are separated, to make sure they can have a magical time whenever they come through our gates,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products.

Many of the U.S. military service men and women had been separated from their families for an extended period of time and reunited with them in Andy’s backyard for a magical experience.

Toy Story Land was first announced on August 15, 2015 at the D23 Expo and opened to the public on June 30, 2019. The new land features two new attractions, Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers; a quick-service dining venue, Woody’s Lunch Box; and plenty of opportunities to meet your favorite characters from the “Toy Story” films.
