Holiday D-Lights, Yuletide Fantasy, and Gardens of the World behind-the-scenes tours return to Walt Disney World

The behind-the-scenes Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy, Disney’s Holiday D-Lights and Gardens of the World tours will return to Walt Disney World this fall to give guests even more opportunities to see the magic behind the resort’s special holiday celebrations.

Walt Disney World is not only an international destination for some of the world’s most popular themed attractions, restaurants and resorts, it is also famous for its substantial Christmas and holiday-themed entertainment offerings. The Walt Disney World Resort’s exceptional holiday offerings have delighted guests with Christmas spirit for almost 50 years, and these three behind-the-scenes tours give guests the opportunity to learn the history and happenings of what goes on backstage to make these celebrations possible.

Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy

For $139, guests can learn how Walt Disney World Resort prepares to celebrate the holiday season with a fun-filled tour filled with stories and traditions of how the Disney Parks have evolved over the years in their Christmas celebrations.

This 3.5-hour tour gives guests the inside scoop backstage of the Disney Parks with logistics of the resort’s wintertime transformation in addition to interesting facts.

On the tour guests get to:

  • Discover how Holiday Services Cast Members use themes to design the unique decorations that dress up the Resort. For this part of the tour, guests get to see the facilities where cast members design and create the decorations found around the resort.
  • Explore the Floral Department with a behind-the-scenes look at how they create special displays for the holiday season. During this part of the tour, guests not only get to see the work environment where cast members work diligently to create the displays, but they also get to tour the entire facility. Visitors also learn facts and history of the department and inspiration and techniques the department uses to create some of their stunning displays.
  • Whip up an edible holiday treat with a Disney Springs culinary artist. The treat guests get to not only create, but decorate and personalize, is an edible Gingerbread man at Amorette’s Patisserie. Culinary artists who design some of the patisserie’s delicious offerings aid guests in the creation of this sweet little treat. The artists are also available to discuss some of the behind-the-scenes happenings of Amorette’s Patisserie, including a look at the creation of their famous Holiday Gingerbread house.

Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy tour runs November 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 29, 30, December 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29. Guests must be 12 years and older to participate and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a part or guardian.

The event is $139.00 is per person and does not include tax.

Disney’s Holiday D-Lights

For $279.00, guests can discover how Walt Disney World Resort becomes even more magical for the holidays on an illuminating back-stage tour of Disney’s Christmas facilities, which holds the lights found on Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom.

This 6-hour tour lets guests celebrate the excitement of the holidays with festive sights and sounds of the season, including some of the secrets behind the resort’s most spirited traditions in Epcot and Magic Kingdom park.

On the tour guests get to:

  • Eat an early, family-style barbecue dinner (included) at Whispering Canyon Cafe, located within Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
  • Go backstage at 2 Walt Disney World theme parks to learn, firsthand, how they bring to life some of their most cherished customs.
  • Interact with some of the talented folks who put together these remarkable events. Get your questions answered by some experts in their fields.
  • Meet the gifted Event & Decorating Support team responsible for adorning Cinderella Castle in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights. Then, see the stunning display for yourself during a breathtaking lighting ceremony.
  • Put yourself in the action with exclusive photo opportunities.
  • Continue on to Epcot to witness the stirring Candlelight Processional, a retelling of the Christmas story brought to life by a 50-piece live orchestra, choir and celebrity narrator.

Disney’s Holiday D-Lights tour runs November 21, 26, 27, 29, December 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20. Guests must be 12 years and older to participate and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a part or guardian.

No cameras, video equipment or cell phones may be used while backstage. However, photography is allowed and encouraged in all non-backstage areas.

Price of tour ($279.00) only includes experiences and transportation for the locations on the tour. Valid theme park admission will be required to enjoy the theme parks either before or after your tour.

Gardens of the World – Fall Edition

For $85.00, guests to Epcot can enhance their Epcot International Food & Wine Festival experience with this fall-edition experience.

This 3-hour tour lets guests immerse their senses in the world of edible trees, shrubs and flowers! It also gives guests the chance to study the various gardens of the World Showcase with a Disney Horticulture expert.

This experience will help guests discover the common thread of sustainable agriculture all around the globe and discuss how anyone can adapt these growing techniques in their own garden.

Gardens of the World – Fall Edition tour requires that Guests must be 12 years and older to participate and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a part or guardian. The price of this tour is $85.00 plus tax, per Guest.

Epcot admission is required and is not included in the price of the tour. Dates for the tour will take place during Epcot International Food & Wine Festival from 9:00 AM to noon.
