How to celebrate Independence Day the Disney way this Fourth of July at Walt Disney World

in Disney, Theme Parks, Walt Disney World

It’s the most patriotic time of year once again, as we approach the annual Independence Day holiday at the beginning of next month. And what better place to celebrate the Fourth of July than at that great American institution Walt Disney World?

Between U.S.A.-themed concerts and shows at Epcot, special fireworks and dance parties at Magic Kingdom, and of course the chance to spot Mickey Mouse and friends decked out in their most nationalistic attire, the Walt Disney World theme parks sure know how to pay tribute to America in the happiest way possible!

WATCH 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS FROM 2016 AT MAGIC KINGDOM:

  • Epcot – On July 4, enjoy special evening concerts of great American songs by Voices of Liberty at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the America Gardens Theatre. During the day, you can also meet Mickey and the gang in patriotic attire outside The American Adventure, and at 9 p.m. that night “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” joins the celebration with the addition of a heart-pounding, all-American grand finale!

  • Magic Kingdom Park – At 9:15 p.m. on both July 3 and 4, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” rockets into the air above – and all around – the park. Since this special, fireworks spectacular will be presented two nights in a row, you can start the celebration early if you like. Each evening will also see special DJ parties hosted in Frontierland and Tomorrowland, where you can get a great view of the fireworks!

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Spend the Fourth celebrating one of the greatest icons of American popular culture at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.” This one-of-a-kind show blasts off at 10 p.m. with fireworks, lasers, projection effects and more!

We’re not quite sure why Disney chose to highlight a “Star Wars” show among its Independence Day festivities, but “A Galactic Spectacular” sure does include some cool pyrotechnic effects, and– like Walt Disney World itself– “Star Wars” was born right here in the good old US of A.

Join family, friends, and plenty of Disney magic for Walt Disney World’s Independence Day celebration this July 3 and 4 in Orlando, Florida.
