Murder weapons come in many shape and sizes.  From hatchets to machetes of hack and slay horror movie fame to poisons and pistols, mankind has never suffered from a shortage of life ending equipment.  Perhaps the most inventive incarnation of mass murder, the hotel, has been the inspiration for novels (“The Devil in White City”), television shows (“American Horror Story”) and, now an escape room.

America’s first known serial killer, H.H. Holmes provides historical elements of inspiration for a new escape experience in London, England.  “Hollow Hotel” invites brave adventurers to challenge their skills and avoid an untimely end.

Just recently, this vexing venue “reopened” to the public on April 17, 2018. Located on the top floor of a nondescript three-story building on London’s Clement Rd, “The Hollow Hotel” hides a horror that begs to discovered.

“After its unexpected closure, The Hollow Hotel invites you to its grand re-opening! But if you listen to the whispers in its winding corridors, you might lose yourself as each turn entices you to delve further in; until you can’t turn back. Journey through a maze of hidden passageways that will either lay you to rest, or lead you further into the hotel’s dark heart.

Uncover the hotel’s intricate histories, dark secrets and hidden agendas. Whoever built The Hollow Hotel built a literal death trap; designed just for you…

The Hollow Hotel an immersive interactive psychological horror that draws inspiration from the historical events surrounding America’s first and most terrifying serial killer – H.H. Holmes – the man whose preferred instrument of murder was a hotel.” – The Hollow Hotel

More than just the standard escape the room experience, “The Hollow Hotel” hosts an interactive theater experience filled with several perilous puzzles (hotel rooms) to survive. Adventures begin at the hotel bar, where participants have the opportunity to meet other guests (any one of whom could be the killer).

Expertly imagined, Hollow Hotel is produced by differenceEngine. Founded in 2014, this immersive, interactive theater company has produced shows for gaming company Electronic Arts. Their last experience, The Heist, which sold out in less than an hour, intended to run as a three-week engagement; instead, the show ran for nine months.

Hollow Hotel’s website lists the following essential know before you go tips:
