Take a look at the inspiration behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s newest show, “UP! A Great Bird Adventure.”

“UP! A Great Bird Adventure” first made its premiere back at Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary celebration. The show was a replacement to “Flights of Wonder.” Similar to “Flights of Wonder,” this show still features exotic birds but now with the additions of Russell and Dug from Disney/Pixar’s “UP.”

Today ITM got to speak with Marsha Jackson, a Disney Parks show director who discussed the creation of the new show to the park. Take a look at what she said about the new show in the video above!

This show is an entertainment experience for the whole family and offers guests the chance to see Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug as they discover species of birds from around the world in their newest adventure in Anandapur village. The show also features audience participation, once when a bird flies through the arms of crowd members and another when guests are brought on stage for a fun interaction with a toucan.
