If you haven’t made it to New York to see Disney’s Frozen on Broadway yet, the show may be coming to you instead! The Tony-nominated musical has announced a North American tour starting in Fall 2019.
The full schedule hasn’t been released yet, but the tour begins in Schenectady, New York. Later, the show will officially open at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Casting will also be announced at a later date.
The musical features 12 new songs written by the original “Frozen” songwriting team, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who recently won the Oscar for Best Original Song (“Remember Me” from Disney-Pixar’s “Coco”). Also, their work on Frozen on Broadway earned a Tony nomination for Best Original Score. Tune in to the 72nd Tony Awards on June 10, 2018, to see if they take home the award.
In addition to Best Original Score, Frozen on Broadway earned Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical (written by Jennifer Lee).
