Salt & Straw is now open at Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District! The new location of the ice cream shop from co-founders and cousins Tyler and Kim Malek was announced in April, and it’s now ready to serve up some amazing scoops.
The family-run ice cream company is known for creating unique flavors in small handmade batches using local organic and sustainable ingredients. This is the first Orange County location for the Portland-based company.
When guests enter the shop, they’re greeted by Salt & Straw’s enthusiastic ice cream experts. The shop features an abstract totem pole display of stacked ice cream scoops and cones, handmade sculpted lighting fixtures, and red-and-white striped exterior panels. Guests can treat themselves to flavorful ice cream in handmade waffle cones, with optional fudge and brownie sprinkles. In addition, the store has a freezer full of pints so you can take your favorite flavor home with you.
The menu includes Salt & Straw’s take on classic flavors, including the following:
- Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons
- Chocolate Gooey Brownie
- Honey Lavender
- Sightglass Coffee Cashew Praline
- Roasted Strawberry Coconut
- Dandelion Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies & Cream
- Double Fold Vanilla
- Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper
- Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Black Olive Brittle & Humbolt Fog Goat Cheese
- Freckled Mint TCHO-colate Chip
- Pots of Gold & Rainbows
Current seasonal flavors include:
- The Great Candycopia
- Creepy Crawly Critters
- Mummy’s Pumpkin Spiked Potion
New seasonal menus debut on the first Friday of each month. “What you get at Salt & Straw is far from a tasting experience and more like a journey through ever-changing stories about food, art and ice cream,” says Head Ice Cream Maker and co-founder Tyler Malek.
The opening of this tempting new ice cream shop is part of a promenade-wide transformation at Downtown Disney District. Guests can also look forward to a reimagined World of Disney store and the opening of Ballast Point and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes.
