Thrill-park enthusiasts in Southern California have something to scream about all year long from now on, as Valencia’s popular roller coaster haven, Six Flags Magic Mountain, began its new operating schedule this week, remaining open throughout the year. Before 2018, the Park only welcomed Guests during the summer, with holiday seasons, and on select weekends.

“We [have previously been] open 260 days [in a year], and this will bring us to 365 days,” said Magic Mountain president Bonnie Weber. The Park originally opened in 1971 and was purchased by Six Flags eight years later, becoming the fifth Park in the amusement company’s growing portfolio.

The news was originally announced back in August and was met with enthusiasm from entertainment fans in the greater Los Angeles area, who now have an additional year-round Park to choose from. Other local theme parks Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Knott’s Berry Farm, have been operating every day.
